I also deliver lively banter, humour and good customer engagement to make the performances memorable and enjoyable. 

I generally don’t use backing tracks, as I prefer to play 100% live. I bring all my own audio, PA equipment including piano, or I am happy to use the piano in the venue if a good one in-tune is available. I can also play in the background without vocals as ambient piano music to add atmosphere, if that is what is required. Although my primary instrument is acoustic piano, I can play advanced acoustic guitar,  if that is required for certain gigs.

I have played in dozens of the best known hotels, restaurants, pubs and piano bars all around Dublin and surrounding counties for over 15 years as a solo piano vocalist (and acoustic guitar vocalist). I’ve also played in countless private parties and events for both business functions and private events.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you charge?

Generally, for a standard local pub, restaurant or hotel gig, where I play for two hours, e.g. 9-11pm I would charge from €200 upwards depending on the prestige of the venue, type of gig and taking into account the driving distance, type of event, total round trip time. 

For longer playing gigs (more than 2 hours playing time) inc parties, corporate events and other special occasions including weddings etc, I negotiate a price and may require a booking deposit in advance. 

Bear in mind for me that can be a 4 to 6 hour round trip or longer including Travel and setting up gear etc.

For away gigs, I have to factor in price of overnight accommodation, meals, fuel, boat or plane tickets and time away. 

While there are plenty of acoustic guitarists out there, you can count on one hand the amount of good piano players, who can sing well, with good audience banter, and who have been properly classically trained  on piano to grade 8 or higher. It's a higher caliber type of gig, and suits classy hotels, restaurants and upmarket venues/events. 

 

 

 

What types of events do you perform at?

I perform at weddings, pubs, piano bars, corporate events, private parties, restaurants, hotels and other events or parties where quality live piano (&/or acoustic guitar) vocal music is appreciated. I primarily play piano and sing, and I often switch to acoustic guitar songs depending on the type of gig.

How do I book a performance?

How far will you travel for a gig?

Generally, I perform regular gigs or private events in Dublin and surrounding counties. However, if the fee adequately covers travel and / or accommodation, I will travel further, including abroad.

Can you accommodate special song requests?

Yes, I am happy to accommodate special song requests and will work with you to create a personalised playlist for the gig.

How long a gig do you play?

I generally play a two hour set which includes a 10 minute break in the middle.
